This is a larger view of the sheds under construction. A few of the motors and gearboxes that allow the roof to motor open are shown circled in Red. Eventually this will be powered by Solar energy as well, when finances allow. A small wind generator will also supplement the charging. The main control panel is circled in yellow. A general shed temperature thermostat is circled in green. Later, a soil temperature control system is anticipated. Not viewable is the anemometer (wind speed) mounted well above the roof line at the switchboard end. Each of the roof sections are hinged along the middle and we have highlighted 3 of these hinges in white on one roof section. Each roof section is separated by a gutter with the water drained off to a dam. Being constructed of plastic there is little water loss as the droplets quickly run off the curved roof section. This also includes internal condensation which is substantial. At this stage, this is the largest lightweight growing shed in Australia where the roof opens. Temperatures regulated to within a few degrees, are possible with this When these sheds are eventually operate on solar energy it will leave more power for the water pumps which are currently forced to operate at night. Growing Shed We are proud to be associated with what is currently the largest shed of this type in Australia. Here is just a portion of one of those many sections. |
