Image Recognition Computers

This piece of electronics from Omron is probably the greatest ever, single step forward in quality control.

This programmable camera based device is trained to detect amongst other things.

· Bottle labels that are either the wrong colour or incorrectly placed.

· Detect scratches on contact lenses.

· Determine when promotional items have not been correctly printed.

· Stop a process when components are missing.

· Reject automatically containers that have the incorrect liquid levels.

This is all done when the process is running at normal speed.

It does this by comparing correct images against what is being presented.
